Reflection in Transit

” Reflection in Transit” seeks to capture an emotional connection with New York City and the people I pass in transit.

Through my street photography, I aim to capture the essence of New York City in monochromatic images that evoke the timeless quality of Tri-X film. While the advent of digital technology allows for the instant sharing and consumption of images, I have intentionally chosen to print my photographs from my iPhone, reminiscent of the tactile experience of push-processed film. This deliberate fusion of old and new techniques bridges the gap between my past commitment to silver-based photography and my present artistic process, culminating in a body of work ready for exhibition.

In my ongoing exploration of creativity, I have embraced the integration of sound and music into this project. By creating a traditional still photograph slideshow accompanied by a custom soundtrack, I weave together the traditional and contemporary aspects of photography. This multi-sensory experience enriches the viewer's engagement, providing a deeper understanding and appreciation for the intersection of image and sound.

Through my work, I invite viewers to join me on a visual and auditory journey through the vibrant streets of NYC. By embracing the possibilities of technology while staying rooted in the foundations of the medium, I strive to create a unique artistic experience that resonates with both the nostalgia of the past and the excitement of the present.
