Reflection in Transit

“Reflection in Transit” explores the emotional dialogue between New York City and the fleeting moments of human connection encountered in motion. Through monochromatic street photography, the series captures the city’s pulse — its solitude, rhythm, and resilience — evoking the timeless aesthetic of classic Tri-X film.

In an era defined by instant sharing and digital perfection, I have chosen to print each image from my iPhone, embracing the tactile imperfection reminiscent of push-processed film. This intentional blend of analog sensibility and digital immediacy forms a bridge between my early work in silver-based photography and my present approach, creating a body of work grounded in both memory and evolution.

Expanding beyond the visual, I integrate sound and music into the project — a curated soundtrack accompanying a traditional photographic slideshow. This fusion of image and sound transforms the viewing experience, deepening the connection between moment and mood, and inviting the audience to experience New York not only as seen, but as felt.

Through my work, I invite viewers to join me on a visual and auditory journey through the vibrant streets of NYC. By embracing the possibilities of technology while staying rooted in the foundations of the medium, I strive to create a unique artistic experience that resonates with both the nostalgia of the past and the excitement of the present.
